"Call Claire! She wants to help you,” my friend messaged me when I was trying to find a rental house on short notice. The housing market was tight and I needed to move out of my home of 20 years into a rental, and I wasn’t having much luck at all. Well, Claire turned out to be the luck I needed. She listened to what I was hoping to find and my budget and set out to find something for me. She searched around all the usual ways, but then expanded out, making calls to brokers and reaching into her personal contacts to track down options for me when there wasn’t a lot available. She stayed in touch with me and tenaciously scoured on and off market options with care, passion, and skill until she connected me with someone who was thinking of renting their house and made the match that worked for everyone! I am now living in that house with my two teens, a near perfect fit in a perfect spot and we are so very grateful. I had a dozen people helping me look, and Claire was the one who made it happen. Did Claire make a big commission on this? No, she didn’t…none at all. She did it because she heard I was in a tough spot and needed help. She did it because she cares and had the skills and a deep commitment to changing people’s lives for the better. She worked that hard for me when there was nothing in it for her other than making a difference, because that is who Claire is. If she did all this for me, I have often wondered how much she would do for someone who was listing or buying a house with her! She definitely was the luck I needed, because she had the skills, creativity and drive I needed, and I am confident anyone would be lucky to have Claire and all she brings on their side.
Like many people who have been working in big cities the pandemic made it clear I needed to move out of NYC and to a more quiet place. My mom lives in Pittsboro, NC and I figured I should look within an hour of her. At first I hadn’t decided where in the ‘Triangle’ I wanted to be so I was in need of a realtor who could help me understand the area and find a rental to stay in for the next year while I got acclimated and could better make a decision about buying a home. Claire was wonderful. Having made the transition herself many years before from Philly to Pittsboro she was empathetic to my case and really was able to help me get a sense of the areas and opportunities available there. Claire sent me links to listings that were within my price range all of which were unique and I had not seen after scrubbing the internet for rentals. They really gave me an idea of value for different areas I chose. Then Claire took me to look at the ones I liked and helped me understand the neighborhoods and how they were changing. In the end I was so lucky to get a place that ticked all my boxes and I am so grateful! I felt I had someone on the inside who could guide me and help me make the best decision for me and get me the best deal on the perfect apartment for now and when I am ready to buy I trust her to do the same.
